I spent most of the week on standby to go flying so I was able to start work on the VAT return. Two days work and I am half way through it. Details to be published when it is complete. Sigh.
At last the architrave fitting (for all 33 internal doors!) is completed.
You will recall the on-going major dispute with BT (see Week 111 and all weeks since). It has been unusable since May 2003!
This week BT believe they have identified the problem on my main computer (my previous computer is still sitting idle & useless in the study). Apparently, Windows XP produces mini-dump files whenever the computer crashes. Myacom, (the BT software writers) have been analysing my mini-dump files & believe that the crashing is occurring when my computer goes into and/or recovers from standby or "sleep" mode. They have asked me to disable standby mode temporarily & reload the BT software. If this works OK they will come and install new modified software next week. I have done as they asked & so far - ISDN is working & the computer has not crashed.
To be continued.....
So we don't forget what we have achieved here is a quick look at what we were doing one and two years ago.
