Progress this week

• Kitchen fitting completed
• Internal door fitting continues

Main focus this week was on internal door fitting. Ideally we wanted cottage style ledge & brace doors throughout. Unfortunately, 10 of the 39 doors had to be fire doors and you can not buy ledge & brace fire doors (unless you know better!). Solution? Make our own! We (my carpenter) took a conventional fire door (very cheap) and then panelled it in pine to match the others. Once stained they look fantastic as you will see next week..........

1st internal door fitted	Trapdoor architrave'd
The finished fire door - 3 inches thick!	Belfast sink & taps fitted
Kitchen door fitted	Rising butt hinges for the fire doors (which must self-close)

Jeld-Wen door Update

You may recall the front door saga from Week 59.........

Latest is that they will make a "special" door for me that can be stained - as it says in the catalogue! Delivery scheduled for March!
